The markets slipped off from the day’s high reacting to the negative opening of the European Markets However the markets are still trading higher as buying interest continued among the Metal, Capital Goods, Oil & Gas and Banking stocks. The BSE Sensex is now trading above the 14,250 mark and the NSE Nifty above the 4,300 mark.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1730 stocks are advancing while 974 stocks are declining in BSE.
Mahindra & Mahindra reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading up by (4.51%) at Rs. 653.50 while Tata Motors reported the top loser trading down by (2.84%) at Rs. 333.80.
BSE Sensex is at 14,263.33 up by 153.69 points and Nifty is at 4,317.15 up by 41.10 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is trading higher by 27.49 points at 4,924.86 and the BSE Small Cap increased by 16.92 points to 5,814.66.
The Metal index is trading with decent gains of 278.15 points or 2.71% at 10,544.94. Leading the rally are JSW Steel trading up by 11.94% at Rs 577.55 along with NMDC by 8.09% at Rs415, SAIL by 5.71% at Rs163, Jai Corp by 4.99% at Rs261.10, Sterlite Industries by 3.21% at Rs610.10, Tata Steel by 2.67% at Rs383.20, Ispat Industries by 1.53% at Rs24.51, Welspun Guj by 1.49% at Rs166.80 and Jindal Saw by 1.22% at Rs372.
The Capital Goods index is trading higher by . Gainers from this pack are Elecon Eng trading higher by 4.98% at Rs86.40 in line with Siemens by 3.78% at Rs481, Jyoti Structures by 3.03% at Rs130.85, L&T by 2.34% at Rs1342.15, ABB by 2.16% at Rs621, Punj Lloyd by 2.02% at Rs189.50, Gammon India by 1.50% at Rs169.70 and Alstom Projects by 1.01% at Rs453.
