The markets have gained some grounds from the day’s low as some buying is seen among the selective scrips. The Oil & Gas index finally recovered from its low and turned into green. However, the Realty, IT, Consumer Durables, Metal, Pharma and Capital Goods stocks are still in red.
The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap both have underperfoermed the benchmark index today and are trading with a cut of more than 2% each.
Among the global markets, the European markets are also trading with a sharp cut with both the FTSE and DAX lost 1% each.
The overall market breadth is negative as 547 stocks are advancing while 2029 stocks are declining in BSE.
SBI reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (3.03%) at Rs.1,534 while the ICICI Bank the top loser down by (9.39%) at Rs.568.95.
At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 13,289.09 down by 242.18 points and Nifty is at 4,015.75 down by 57.15 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 128.74 points at 5,159.85 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 151.85 points to 6,228.62.
The BSE Realty index is the one of the top loser today trading with a loss of 259.76 points at 4,074.76. The main losers are HDIL down by (6.73%) at Rs.226.05, India Bull Real decreased by (5.67%) at Rs.225.35 followed by DLF and Parsavnath declined by (5.11%) and (5.43%) to Rs.410.50 and Rs.102.80 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are ICICI Bank trading at Rs.569.40 with a total traded quantity of 13508311 shares followed by Reliance Industries trading at Rs.1891.70 with a total traded quantity of 3018110 shares
