Markets are trading deep into red without any sign of recovery. Domestic markets opened on extremely negative zone on heavy selling pressure led by weak global cues. Lehman Brothers is likely to file for bankruptcy in US today. All the sectorial indices are trading weak and huge profit booking is seen mainly in the Capital Goods, Metal, Realty, IT, and Bank stocks. The market breadth is extremely weak as 2106 stocks are trading in red while 208 stocks are in green.
BSE Sensex is trading lower by 772.17 points at 13,228.64 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 260.10 at 3,965.65. However, the BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are trading lower by 229.31 points and 330.12 points at 5,237.83 and 6,381.42 respectively.
Losers from the BSE Sensex are Reliance Infra down by (10.25%) at Rs834.05 along with Satyam Comp(9.43%) at Rs368.20, JP Associates (9.39%) at Rs142.75, Stetrlite In (9.37%) at Rs441.45, DLF Ltd (8.42%) at Rs428.50, Reliance Com Ltd (7.99%) at Rs359.90 and ONGC Ltd by (7.50%) at Rs946.10.
The BSE Capital Goods index is trading down by 682.63 points at Rs11,153.95 as Walchand Industries is trading lower by (9.66%) at Rs245.00 followed by Industries (8.93%) at Rs150.00, Siemens Ltd (8.09%) at Rs477.90, Elecon Eng C by (7.95%) at Rs103.00 and Reliacne Indus Infra (7.92%) at Rs777.00.
The BSE Metal index is trading lower by 640.46 points at Rs10,240.96 as NMDC Ltd is trading down by (10.00%) at Rs251.20 along with Stetrlite In (9.37%) at Rs441.45, Ispat Indus (9.17%) at Rs20.80, Welspan Gujarat Sr by (8.70%) at Rs279.00 and Jindal Steel (7.45%) at Rs1,468.00
