The markets today got off to a positive start today backed by strong cues from the global markets. The US treasury has come out with a plan to create a Resolution Trust-like operation to calm the economic turmoil and the financial crisis. All the secotorial indices are trading in green in the opening trade. The strong buying witnessed among the Realty, IT, Power, Capital Goods and Banking stocks.
The inflation after declining for three weeks in a row went up to 12.14% for the week ended September 6 from 12.1% in the previous week.
The BSE Sensex is trading above the 13700 level and the NSE Nifty above the 4100 mark.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1331 stocks are advancing whereas 371 stocks are declining on BSE.
HDFC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading with a gain of (5.48%) at Rs.2,248 followed by Wipro up by (5.84%) at Rs.420.30.
At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was up by 397.39 points at 13,712.99 and the Nifty was up by 107.30 points to 4,145.45.
The BSE Mid Cap increased by 105.29 points to 5,184.42 and the BSE Small Cap advanced by 113.75 points to 6,189.18.
BSE IT index surged by 123.23 points or (3.58%) to trade at 3,560.63. The major gainers are Wipro, HCL Technologies, Satyam Computer and TCS grew by (5.84%), (5.75%), (4.63%) and (4.43%) to Rs.420.30, Rs.224.50, Rs.350.50 and Rs.752 respectively.
BSE Realty index advanced by 136.08 points or (3.57%) to trade at 3,949.19. The top gainers are India Bull Real increased by (6.79%) to Rs.204.50, HDIL up by (3.33%) to Rs.214.20, DLF inclined by (3.33%) to Rs.409.30 followed by Unitech grew by (3.11%) to Rs.125.85.
Wipro is trading higher by (6.12%) at Rs.421.65. The company has acquired South Miami (US)-based mortgage solutions provider Gallagher Financial Systems. The company intends to use the software for its BPO services for the banking clients for their mortgage and loan processing requirements
