The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 448 points at 13,764. The index is now up 435 points at 13,750.
HDFC has zoomed 6.6% to Rs 2,272. Wipro and Satyam have soared around 6% each to Rs 421 and Rs 354, respectively.
ICICI Bank, TCS and Bharti Airtel have surged around 5% each to Rs 605, Rs 755 and Rs 796, respectively.
ONGC has gained 4.4% at Rs 1,043. HDFC Bank, DLF, Grasim and BHEL have rallied around 4% each to Rs 1,271, Rs 412, Rs 1,956 and Rs 1,672, respectively.
Tata Steel, Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Motors, Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure and Ranbaxy are down around 4% each.
