Investors are booking profits after a sharp rally on Monday. Domestic markets opened today on negative note and are trading lower as weak Asian markets weighed on sentiment. BSE Sensex is trading with cut of more than 1% and NSE Nifty with cut of about 1%. Selling pressure has emerged across most counters particularly Capital Goods, Bank, Oil & Gas, Metal, and Reality stocks. The market breadth is negative as 1184 stocks are trading in red while 950 stocks are in green.
At 11.31AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 135.30 points at 14,809.66 and NSE Nifty is trading down 37.85 at 4,444.45. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are trading lesser by 16.19 points and 1.28 points at 5,803.70 and 6,981.48 respectively.
Losers from the NSE Nifty are Tata Motors Ltd down by (4.46%) at Rs417.00 along with Hero Honda Motors Ltd (3.96%) at Rs827.50 , Dr Reddy’s Lab (2.54%) at Rs577.00, M&M Ltd (2.51%) at Rs579.25, Sterlite In (2.15%) at Rs608.50, ICICI Bank Ltd (2.03%) at Rs705.80 and Tata Comm. Ltd by (1.96%) at Rs441.10.
The BSE Metal index is trading lower by 92.10 points at Rs11,922.94 as Sterlite In is trading down by (2.19%) at Rs608.75 along with Jindal Steel (1.16%) at Rs1,813.00, Jai corp Ltd (0.88%) at Rs330.85, Ispat Indus by (0.81%) at Rs24.40 and Steel Atuhority (0.77%) at Rs149.10.
The BSE Bank index is losing 91.47 points at Rs7,372.77. Scrips trading lower are Indian Overseas Bank (3.34%) at Rs95.50 followed by Bank of Baroda by (2.73%) at Rs292.15, Bank of India (2.29%) at Rs286.50, Federal Bank (1.95%) at Rs223.80 and Kotak Bank by (1.95%) at Rs609.70.
Sterlite In is trading lower by (2.19%) at Rs608.75. According to a report, the company may combine with Madras Aluminium Co. as part of a plan to reorganize operations in the country. Madras Aluminium Company and Sterlite Industries, both are subsidiaries of Vedanta. Vedanta Resources, is an LSE listed company and is considering a restructuring of its operations in India
