The market is trailing behind on the back of weak cues from the global markets as well as the investors keep an eye on the progress of the Indo-US nuclear deal in the NSG meet in Vienna. The NSE Nifty is trading lower by 86.85 points at 4,360.90 and BSE Sensex is trading down by 353.11 points at 14,545.99. The BSE MidCap and SmallCap are trading down by 41.47 points and 34.06 points at 5,787.70 and 6,940.31 respectively.
Leading the rally from the losers pack of BSE are AdiBirla Nuvo trading lower by 5.20% at Rs1200 in line with Voltas by 5.14% at Rs128.30, India Infoline by 4.72% at Rs130.10, Akruti City by 4.48% at Rs919, Gujarat NRE by 4.36% at Rs95.50, JP Associate by 3.76% at Rs170.10 and Reliance Capital by 3.68% at Rs1340.
The BSE Metal index is trading lower by 250.84 points at 11,932.06. Pulling it are Gujarat NRE trading down by 3.66% at Rs96.20 along with Jindal Steel trading down by 3.56% at Rs1827.95, Sterlite industries by 3.41% at Rs592.20, Jindal Saw by 1.68% at Rs569.95, Tata Steel by 1.43% at Rs574 and Ispat inds by 1.22% at Rs24.30.
The BSE Oil and Gas index is trading down by 203.03 points at 9,641.62. Scrips that are trading lower are Reliance inds by 3.33% at Rs2081, Cairn India by 2.93% at Rs230, RNRL by 1.21% at Rs93.70, Essar Oil by 1.10% at Rs212 while Aban Offshore, BPCL and HPCL are trading higher by 3.39%, 3.22% and 3.07% at Rs2290, Rs340 and Rs233.30 respectively.
BPCL is trading higher by 3.09% at Rs340.55. The US Trade and Development Agency has awarded a $370,000 technical assistance related grant to BPCL. The company will utilize the grant to introduce advanced safety technologies and inspection methodologies to minimize risk and vulnerabilities to its petroleum refinery and pipeline operations
