The markets are still trading lower. The Auto, Oil & Gas, Metal and Power stocks are facing the most selling pressure today. However, the IT, Bank and Realty stocks are trading in green. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap stocks are also trading lower.
The overall market breadth is negative as 1001 stocks are advancing while 1478 stocks are declining in BSE.
HDFC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (4.01%) at Rs.2,380 while Grasim Industries reported the top loser down by (5.27%) at Rs.1,948.05.
At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 14,707.56 down by 16.62 points and Nifty is at 4,407.85 down by 22.84 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 23.57 points to 5,799.84 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 42.03 points to 7,067.50.
The BSE IT index is the top performer today trading with a gain of 43.57 points at 3,940.53. The main gainers are Satyam Computer up by (1.97%) at Rs.420, TCS increased by (1.39%) at Rs.843 followed by Infosys Technologies and Wipro inclined by (1.32%) and (0.85%) to Rs.1,711.75 and Rs.432.80 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2,233.50 with a total traded quantity of 1920496 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.677 with a total traded quantity of 4918283 shares.
