The markets gained further grounds and are now trading at day’s high as strong buying emerged across the board. The Metal and Consumer Durables index today outperformed the benchmark indices as they are now trading with a gain of more than 4% each. Further, the Realty, FMCG and Auto stocks are also witnessing strong buying interest.
The BSE Sensex is now trading above the 15,200 mark and the NSE Nifty above the 4,500 mark.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1630 stocks are advancing while 897 stocks are declining in BSE.
Reliance Infra reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading up by (5.84%) at Rs. 1,155 while Bharti Airtel reported the top loser trading down by (2.53%) at Rs. 802.
The BSE Sensex is trading up by 369.29 points at 15,212.41 and the NSE Nifty is trading higher by 115.70 points at 4,514.60.
The BSE Mid Cap increased by 111.62 points to 5,286.36 and the BSE Small Cap grew by 115.30 points to 5,932.66.
The Consumer Durables index is trading with strong gains of 125.15 points or 4.26% at 3,060.09. Gainers from this pack are Blue Star trading up by 7.74% at Rs. 352 along with Titan Inds by 3.87% at Rs. 1,305, Videocon Ind by 2.25% at Rs. 173, Gitanjali GE by 2.04% at Rs. 100, Rajesh Exports by 2.03% at Rs. 40.20.
The Metal index is trading up by 486.21 points or 4.29% at 11,831.82. Leading from the gainers pack are Hindalco Ind trading up by 6.78% at Rs. 91.30 followed by Ispat Inds by 6.05% at Rs. 21.90, Sterlite Inds by 5.56% at Rs. 634.75, Hind Zinc by 5.05% at Rs. 685, SAIL by 4.69% at Rs. 174.10, Jindal Steel by 4.35% at Rs. 2907.90, Welspun Guj SR by 4.25% at Rs. 208.45 and Tata Steel by 3.92% at Rs. 413.90.
The most active shares on NSE are Satyam Comp trading at Rs. 103.85 with a total traded quantity of 89161970 shares followed by IFCI trading at Rs. 49.45 with a total traded quantity of 48557919 shares.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is trading up by 5.25% at Rs. 1281. The company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 5835.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 4658.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
Total Income has increased from Rs 50823.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 67095.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.
KEC International Limited is trading higher by 7.05% at Rs. 454.25. The company, a global leader in the power transmission EPC business, has won four orders totaling to Rs, 471 crores in the domestic market.
The two orders are from North East Transmission Company. Limited. (a Joint Venture of QNGC, IL&F5 and Govt of Tripura).
ACC Limited is trading up by 5.10% at Rs. 849. The company has posted a net profit of Rs 4856.193 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 2714.242 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
Total Income is Rs 21382.483 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 18541.087 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
On the global markets front, the European markets are now trading lower as the FTSE 100, DAX and CAC index are trading down by (0.12%), (0.01%) and (0.13%) respectively.
