Market Spring Back Of Go Round More Or Less - July 23, 2009

Market after opening on a buoyant note, the key benchmark indices are continuously trading with positive sentiments on the back of fresh capital inflows by foreign funds in tandem with firming trend in other Asian equity markets. On a stock specific move, HDFC is trading higher by 2% after it disclosed plans to raise Rs 4,000 crore by placing debentures with institutions.

During the last hours'' trading session almost all the sectoral indices are trading in the green territory with heavy buying interest has emerged across Consumer Durable (CD), Metal, FMCG and Realty stocks.

Among the BSE sectoral indices, CD, Metal and FMCG stocks surged by 3.51%, 3.07% and 2.97% respectively.

Overall the market breadth is positive as 1,423 stocks are trading in green while 566 stocks are in red.

The BSE Sensex surged by 200.57 points at 15,043.7 while NSE Nifty up by 71.2 points at 4,470.1.

Besides, the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 76.26 points and 74.15 points at 5,251 and 5,891.52 respectively.

Gainers from the BSE Sensex Pack are Sterlite Industries up by (4.27%) to Rs. 626.95, along with Hindalco Industries by (3.39%) to Rs. 88.40, Tata Steel by (2.99%) at Rs. 410.20, DLF Limited by (2.80%) at Rs. 355.90, ITC Limited by (2.78%) at Rs. 223.90 and Reliance com by (2.54%) at Rs. 268.50.

Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Sterlite Industries inclined by (4.17%) at Rs. 626.45 along with Hindalco Industries by (4.09%) at Rs. 89.1, ITC Limited by (3.60%) at Rs. 225.85, DLF Limited by (2.82%) at Rs. 355.55, Tata Steel by (2.77%) at Rs. 410.4 and Idea Cellular by (2.68%) at Rs. 76.7.

BSE CD is trading higher by (3.51%) or 102.91 points at 3,037.85. The major gainers are Blue Star inclined by (5.60%) at Rs. 345 along with Titan Industries by (2.52%) at Rs. 1,288, Rajesh Exports by (1.40%) at Rs. 39.95, Gitanjali GE by (1.07%) at Rs. 99.05 followed by Videocon Ind by (1%) at Rs. 170.9.

BSE Metal is trading higher by (3.07%) or 348.35 points at 11,693.96. The top gainers in the index are Sterlite Industries by (4.27%) to Rs. 626.95 along with Hindalco Industries by (3.39%) to Rs. 88.40, Tata Steel by (2.99%) to Rs. 410.20 followed by Ispat Industries by (2.91%) to Rs. 21.25.
