Market Set Off On All Sides Of Explosive - July 29, 2009

Market after a subdued start, the benchmark indices are trading with volatility amid mixed cues from global markets. Due to lack of any specific news in the domestic arena, investors are likely to remain bearish ahead of the derivative contracts expiry for the July series. On a stock specific move, Maytas Infra is trading higher by 3.5% after Cash-strapped inked an agreement with a Singapore-based consultancy firm to raise Rs 240 crore and thereby, retain the metro rail project.

During the last hours'' trading session, buying interest has emerged across Oil & Gas, Auto and Tech stocks while selling interest seen across Realty, Metal and Consumer Durable (CD) counters.

Among the BSE Sectoral indices buying interest has emerged across Oil & Gas and Auto stocks trading higher by 0.71% and 0.66% respectively, while Realty and Metal down by 1.88% and 0.81% respectively.

Overall the market breadth is positive as 1,288 stocks are trading in green while 890 stocks are in red.

The BSE Sensex down by 37.29 points at 15,294.65 while NSE Nifty declined by 14.65 points at 4,549.45. Besides, the BSE Mid Cap is trading lower by 2.48 points at 5,528.88, while Small Cap is trading higher by 17.02 points at 6,262.84 respectively.

Losers from the BSE Sensex Pack are DLF Limited down by (3.91%) to Rs. 409.45, along with Tata Motors by (3.83%) to Rs. 398.35, Sterlite Industries by (2.21%) to Rs. 643, Reliance Infra by (1.81%) at Rs. 1,188, BHEL by (1.57%) at Rs.2,226.95 and Tata Steel by (1.56%) at Rs. 461.65.

Losers from the NSE Nifty Pack are DLF Limited decreased by (4.27%) at Rs. 407.7 along with Tata Motors by (4.07%) at Rs. 397.5, Axis Bank by (3.06%) at Rs. 927.35, Unitech Limited by (2.93%) at Rs. 92.9, Sterlite Industries by (2.61%) at Rs. 640 and Cairn India by (2.31%) at Rs. 234.5.

BSE Realty is trading lower by (1.88%) or 76.90 points at 4,013.22. The top losers are Housing Dev declined by (4.61%) at Rs. 275.1 along with DLF Limited by (3.91%) to Rs. 409.45, Parsvnath by (3.28%) at Rs. 117.95, Omaxe Limited by (3.17%) at Rs. 111.60 followed by Unitech by (2.87%) at Rs. 93.

BSE Oil & Gas is trading higher by (0.71%) or 65.17 points at 9,288.43 The top gainers in the index are Aban Offshore surged by (2.87%) to Rs. 993.20 along with RNRL by (2.54%) to Rs. 84.80, Essar Oil by (2.36%) to Rs. 145, Indian Oil by (1.76%) to Rs. 535.5 followed by ONGC by (1.68%) to Rs. 1,120.85.
