Market Firm Suitable In The Direction Of Positive Global Cues - July 22, 2009

Market after a smart start, the key benchmark indices are marching towards the northward on the back of firm trend across the Asian region following a positive close on Wall Street. The growing optimism about the recovery in the world economy recharged the traders to take fresh positions on front line stocks.

On a stock specific move, Jai Prakash Associate is trading higher by 3% after company disclosed a plan to process and market edible oil under its own brand as part of a surprise foray into the agribusiness segment.

During the last hours'' trading session, almost all the secotral indices are trading on buoyant note. Among the BSE Sectoral indices buying interest has emerged across Realty, Metal, PSU and Consumer Durable stocks trading higher by 4.55%, 2.44%, 2.04% and 1.95% respectively.

Overall the market breadth is positive as 1,501 stocks are trading in green while 485 stocks are in red.

The BSE Sensex up by 282.48 points at 15,344.98 while NSE Nifty surged by 73.55 points at 4,542.65. Besides, the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 88.18 points and 121.67 points at 5,313.4 and 5,959.5 respectively.

Gainers from the BSE Sensex Pack are DLF Limited up by (5.12%) to Rs. 361.10, along with Sterlite Ind by (4.93%) to Rs. 625.25, ONGC by (4.83%) to Rs. 1,095.25, Tata Motors by (3.13%) at Rs. 337.40, Jaiprakash Associate by (2.93%) at Rs.232.10 and ICICI Bank by (2.82%) at Rs. 793.75.

Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Suzlon Energy increased by (5.33%) at Rs. 95.85 along with DLF Limited by (5.22%) at Rs. 361.5, Sterlite Ind by (4.90%) at Rs. 625.05, ONGC Limited by (4.78%) at Rs. 1,095, Reliance Capital by (4.29%) at Rs. 907 and Unitech Limited by (3.68%) at Rs. 84.5.

BSE Realty is trading higher by (4.55%) or 157.82 points at 3,626.06. The top gainers are Parsvnath surged by (5.37%) at Rs. 104.05 along with DLF Limited by (5.12%) to Rs. 361.10, Indiabul Rea by (5.13%) at Rs. 235.50, Omaxe Limited by (5.09%) at Rs. 98 followed by Ansal Infras by (4.95%) at Rs. 57.25.

BSE Metal is trading higher by (2.44%) or 281.37 points at 11,512.01. The top gainers in the index are Welsp Guj SR surged by (6.96%) to Rs. 205.20 along with Sterlite Ind by (4.93%) to Rs. 625.25, NMDC Limited by (4.72%) to Rs. 382.95, Jai Corp by (4.40%) to Rs. 242 followed by Gujarat NRE by (2.96%) to Rs. 52.15.
