The markets are now trading under pressure due to lack of buying support across the sectorial indices. All the sectorial indices are trading in negative mainly led by the Metal, Realty, Oil & Gas and Capital Goods stocks. Further the negative opening of the European markets also turned down the sentiments. The secondline stocks are also witnessing huge selling pressure in the afternoon trade.
The BSE Mid Cap is now trading with a cut of more than 2% and the BSE Small Cap index with a loss of around 2%.
The BSE Sensex is now trading below the 14700 mark and the NSE Nifty near the 4400 mark.
The overall market breadth is negative as 940 stocks are advancing while 1660 stocks are declining in BSE.
Reliance Infra reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading up by (2.25%) at Rs. 1,297.10 while Tata Steel reported the top loser trading down by (4.97%) at Rs. 428.50.
The BSE Sensex is trading down by 256.84 points at 14,701.07 and the NSE Nifty is trading lower by 113.20 points or (2.51%) at 4,404.60.
The BSE Mid Cap decreased by 126.26 points or (2.42%) to 5,099.90 and the BSE Small Cap fell by 124.22 points or (2.07%) to 5,887.14.
The Metal index is trading with deep cut of 474.73 points or 3.97% at 11,486.65. Losers from this pack are Welspun Guj SR trading down by 5.74% at Rs205.40 along with Tata JSW Steel by 5.38% at Rs645.90, Steel by 5.15% at Rs427.70, Sesa Goa by 5.13% at Rs190.45, Jindal Steel and Power by 4.88% at Rs2501.60, NMDC by 4.58% at Rs385, Jai Corp by 3.89% at Rs286.90 and Hind Zinc by 2.66% at Rs641.45.
The Realty index is trading with losses of 138.40 points or 3.85% at 3,460.35. Losers are Indiabull Real trading lower by 5.71% at Rs203.30 followed by MahindraLife by 4.98% at Rs291, Phoenix Mill by 4.58% at Rs123, Akruti City by 4.39% at Rs533, Anant Raj In by 3.94% at Rs104.95, Unitech by 3.71% at Rs85.60 and DLF by 3.68% at Rs340.30.
The most active shares on NSE are Unitech trading at Rs 86.10 with a total traded quantity of 67430534 shares followed by RNRL trading at Rs.97.20 with a total traded quantity of 60542873 shares.
Sobha Developers Limited is trading up by 2.46% at Rs226.70. The company has accorded to the following at the Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Company held on June 17, 2009- 1.
