The markets are still trading higher as strong buying continued among the benchmark indices. The Capital Goods, Power, Banking, Pharma and Consumer Durables stocks are witnessing strong buying support today. Further the positive opening of the European markets also boosted the sentiments. However the broader market indices have given up most of the early session gains and are now trading flat.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1279 stocks are advancing while 1426 stocks are declining in BSE.
Wipro reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading up by (5.72%) at Rs. 448 while DLF reported the top loser trading down by (2.19%) at Rs. 393.90.
BSE Sensex is trading up by 301 points or (1.99%) at 15,428 and the NSE Nifty is trading higher by 95.95 points or (2.11%) at 4,646.90.
The BSE Mid Cap increased by 26.26 points or (0.50%) to 5,301.98 while the BSE Small Cap fell by 13.23 points or (0.21%) to 6,172.38.

Pushing its are Usha Martin trading up by 9.43% at Rs58.05 along with Bhel by 5.30% at Rs2368, Bharat Bijli by 5.12% at Rs912.05, Abb by 4.37% at Rs768, SKF India by 3.84% at Rs242.30, L&T by 3.52% at Rs1629.30, Thermax Ltd by 3.21% at Rs415, Siemens by 2.92% at Rs499.30, Havells India by 2.65% at Rs299.85 and Gammon India by 1.75% at Rs168.30.
The Power index is trading up by 87.59 points or 2.96% at 3,049.68. Gainers from this pack are Lanco Infra trading up by 10.24% at Rs427 followed by Bhel by 5.33% at Rs2,368.70, Tata Power by 4.97% at Rs1197, Reliance Infra by 3.02% at Rs1184, Siemens by 2.65% at Rs498, NTPC by 2.75% at Rs218.80, Torrent Power by 2.75% at Rs164.60.
The most active shares on NSE are Unitech trading at Rs 87.65 with a total traded quantity of 75122065 shares followed by Suzlon Energy trading at Rs.121.45 with a total traded quantity of 45246464 shares.
HDFC is trading up by 1.89% at Rs2,400. The company’s committee of Directors on Wednesday approved a proposal to raise Rs 4000 cr. It will raise the money through a combined offering of secured redeemable non-convertible Debentures (NCDs) of up to Rs 4,000 crore along with warrants in accordance with Chapter XIII-A of the SEBI (Disclosure and Investor Protection) Guidelines, 2000 (SEBI DIP Guidelines).
On the global markets front, the European markets are trading higher as the FTSE 100, DAX and CAC 40 index are trading up by (1.68%), (1.81%) and (1.44%) respectively.
