After positive opening the domestic markets have turned volatile. There could be possibility that the traders are likely to be bearish due to holiday on Tuesday and also the corporate results to come on. Besides, today the focus will be on Satyam which is currently trading at nearly 13% gains.
The bids for the company will open today in a sale aimed at giving the company a capital injection and a fresh beginning. At one end the buying interest has emerged in Metal, Bankex and Auto stocks on the other selling is seen across IT and TECk counters.
Further BSE Metal and Bankex indices are trading higher by 5.56% and 4.89%, respectively, whereas the BSE IT and TECk are among the losers with the dip of 1.72% and 0.93% respectively.
Overall the market breadth is positive as 1647 stocks are trading in green while 452 stocks are in red territory.
At 11.31 AM, the BSE Sensex is up by 40.35 points at 10,844.21 whereas NSE Nifty surged by 5.44 points at 3,347.5. Besides, the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 82.38 points and 87.52 points at 3,440.74 and 3,855.08 respectively.

Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Tata Steel Ltd by (8.54%) to Rs. 283.4, along with Suzlon Energy by (7.91%) to Rs. 62.05, HDFC Bank Ltd by (5.86%) at Rs. 1105.65, Sterlite Industries by (5.81%) at Rs. 418.85, ICICI Bank Ltd by (4.99%) at Rs. 417.65 and Axis Bank by (4.86%) at Rs. 467.25.
