The markets after a sharp drop from the day’s high, have recovered a bit from the low’s. The selling pressure is seen among the Realty, Consumer Durables, Metal, Capital Goods and Auto stocks. The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap index are also trading lower today. Further the investors is eyeing on the crucial quarterly number of the Reliance Industries. The company is likely to report dismal numbers due to the sharp fall in the demand of petrochemicals and the petroleum product prices.
The BSE Sensex is now trading below the 8,800 mark and the NSE Nifty is trading around the 2,700 mark.
The overall market breadth is negative as 676 stocks are advancing while 1593 stocks are declining in BSE.
Bharti Airtel reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (5.29%) at Rs.614.50 while Ranbaxy Laboratories the top loser down by (10.43%) at Rs. 182.95.
At 2.30PM BSE Sensex is at 8,770.07 down by 9.10 points and Nifty is at 2,701.10 up by 5.05 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 59.14 points at 2,897.37 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 64.90 points to 3,307.75.
The Realty indexn beaten down badly as heavy selling pressure is witnessed from this basket. The index is trading with losses of 82.26 points or 5.01% at 1,559.09. Pulling it are Anant Raj indtrading with deep cut of 4.79% at Rs63.60 along with DLF by 3.23% at Rs175.15, Orbitco by 3.09% at Rs43.85, Penland by 2.53% at Rs21.20, Sobha Developers by 0.96% at Rs82.60, Phoenix Mill by 0.91% at Rs65.20, Unitech by 0.85% at Rs29.05 and Parsvanath by 0.65% at Rs38.
The Metal index is trading lower by 136.60 points or 2.91% at 4,560.90. Losers are Hindalco industries trading down by 6.96% at Rs44.10 along with Jindal Saw by 5.80% at Rs205.50, Tata Steel by 5.01% at Rs179.20, Welspun Guj by 4.50% at Rs81.80, Jai Corp by 3.65% at Rs63.60, Gujarat NRE by 3.32% at Rs24.75, JSW Steel by 3.18% at Rs195, Sesa Goa by 2.93% at Rs69.55, SAIL by 2.51% at Rs71.75 and Hind Zinc by 1.15% at Rs328.
