The markets are still trading lower with a deep cut as profit booking continues among the Realty, Auto, FMCG, Power, Oil & Gas and IT stocks. The volatility still persists ahead of the expiry of the December derivative contract. However, Banking and the Consumer Durables index are trading higher. The BSE Mid Cap and the Small Cap stocks are also trading lower with a cut of around 1% each.
The BSE Sensex is now trading below the 9,600 mark and the NSE Nifty below the 2,934 mark.
The overall market breadth is negative as 815 stocks are advancing while 1480 stocks are declining in BSE.
Ranbaxy Laboratories reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (2.50%) at Rs.219 while Tata Motors the top loser down by (7.09%) at Rs. 162.45.
At 2.32PM BSE Sensex is at 9,595.95 down by 90.80 points and Nifty is at 2,934.05 down by 34.60 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 24.79 points at 3,151.02 and BSE Small Cap slipped by 37.23 points to 3,601.95.
The Realty index is trading with losses of 118.46 points or (4.92%) at 2,287.92. Pulling it are Unitech trading lower by (13%) at Rs 36.80 along with HDIL by (8.14%) at Rs133.70, Omaxe by (5.75%) at Rs60.65, Orbitco by (5.40%) at Rs60.45, Indiabull Real by (5.32%) at Rs133.50, Ansal Infra by (5.04%) at Rs32, Sobha Dev by (4.35%) at Rs104.65, Akruti City by (2.34%) at Rs613.90.
The Auto index is down by 43.23 points or (1.75%) at 2,420.78. Losers are Tata Motors trading down by (7.06%) at Rs162.50 in line with Escorts by (3.83%) at Rs38.95, Bajaj Auto by (3.41%) at Rs392, M&M by (2.50%) at Rs283, Maruti Suzuki by (1.55%) at Rs505, Bharat Forge by (1.29%) at Rs83.85 and MRF by (1.09%) at Rs1915.
The most active shares on NSE are Satyam Computer trading at Rs.131.20 with a total traded quantity of 68202315 shares followed by Reliance Industries trading at Rs.1,247 with a total traded quantity of 2133122 shares.
