Reckoning Indicating Optimism Markets Among - Nov 10, 2008

Strong buying witnessed across the bourses with Metal and Capital goods taking the hot seat. The benchmark indices are trading with positive bias on the back of positive global cues. China’s $586-billion bailout package plan to revive the world credit crisis, could prove to be positive for the investors to make up their sentiments positive. The markets are trading in green with buying interest in sectors like Metal, Capital Goods, Oil & Gas, Bankex and Power. The market breath is favoring advances, as 1391 stocks are trading in green and about 599 stocks in red on the broader BSE.

At 11.30 AM, the BSE Sensex gained 298.64 points at 10262.94 whereas NSE Nifty surged by 97.25 points at 3070.25. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are gaining by 85.42 points and 63.01 points at 3440.80 and 3963.11 respectively.

Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Sterlite Ind up by (12.12%) at Rs.275.70 along with Tata Steel by (10.37%) at Rs.209.15, NALCO by (8.48%) at Rs.179.10, Reliance Energy ltd by (6.42%) at Rs.595.15, and L&T Ltd by (6.40%) at Rs.926.50.

Gainers from the BSE Sensex Pack are Sterlite ind up by (11.74%) at Rs.275.05 along with Tata Steel by (10.47%) at Rs.210.00, L&T Ltd by (6.32%) at Rs.926.00, Reliance Energy Ltd by (6.22%) at Rs. 595.80, and BHEL by (5.82%) at Rs.1486.85.

BSE Metal index is trading higher by 365.72 points at 5,518.05. The top gainers in the index are Hindustan Zinc increased by (10.69%) to Rs.349.00, Sterlite ind up by (10.22%) to Rs.271.30, Tata Steel by (9.36%) to Rs.207.90, Jindal Steel by (9.08%) at Rs.804.55, followed by NALCO by (7.06%) to Rs.177.45.

BSE Capital Goods index is gaining by 331.93 points at 7,967.34. The major gainers are Alstom Project trading up by (6.09%) at Rs.274.30, Punj Lloyd up by (5.73%) to Rs.210.40, Larsen & Toubro up by (5.69%) to Rs.920.55, BHEL higher by (5.62%) to Rs.1484.00, followed by Siemens Ltd increased by (4.36%) to Rs.308.50.
