The policymakers are up on their toes encouraging liquidity in the market. However, both the indices have shed larger gains that they made in the early hours of the day. RBI has signaled that this could be an ad hoc, temporary measure and there will be continuous review over the liquidity conditions. On the other hand, SEBI move may not encourage FIIs in the existing levels due to fear pertaining in the current global scenario. Buying spear is being witnessed across the sectors. The markets were trading mixed just before the close for sun outage. Selling pressure has emerged across some counters particularly Capital Goods, Bankex, Metal, Auto and FMCG stocks. The market breadth is negative as 1539 stocks are trading in red while 674 stocks are in green.
At 11.25AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 64 points at 11737.35 and NSE Nifty is trading up by 25 points at 3627.35. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are trading lesser by 78 points and 68 points at 5018.59 and 4266.12 respectively.
Gainers from the NSE Nifty are National Aluminium Co gained by (6.06%) at Rs349.2, Gail India up by (4.82%) at Rs264 along with Bharti Airtel (3.83%) at Rs755.55. However scrips like Larsen & Toubro, ITC, ICICI bank where under selling pressure down by 7.08%, 5.25% and 3.97% at Rs1007.2, Rs170.55 and Rs470.60 respectively.
Losers from the BSE Sensex are Larsen & Toubro plunged by (7.22%) at Rs1005, ITC down by (5.22%) at Rs170.7 along with ICICI Bank (3.82%) at Rs471.7, Maruti Suzuki (3.02%) at Rs640, HDFC Bank (2.99%) at Rs1166, HUL (2.74%) at Rs242.85 and M&M (2.65%) at Rs489.05..
The BSE Capital Goods index is losing by 341.14 points at Rs9153.79. Scrips trading lower are L&T (7.22%) at Rs1005 followed by Elecon Eng (6.53%) at Rs72.95, Reliance Industrial Infra by (5.56%) at Rs477.00, Usha Martin (3.77%) at Rs51.00 and Alstom Project by (3.56%) at Rs333.10.
The BSE Bankex index is trading lower by 134.40 points at Rs6037.60 as scrips trading lower are Kotak Bank (5.73%) at Rs452.15, ICICI Bank (3.81%) at Rs471.75, Oriental Bank down by (2.08%) at Rs153.00, along with Indian Overseas bank by (2.96%) at Rs88.60 and Punjab national bank is trading down by (1.55%) at Rs480.00.
