The markets are facing a bit of volatility today and are swinging between the positive and negative territory. The selling pressure continued among the selective scrips mainly led by the Capital Goods, Pharma, Metal, IT and Banking stocks. The Mid Cap and the Small Cap stocks are also facing the selling heat and are trading with a cut of more than 2% each.
On the global market front, the European Markets are trading mixed as both the FTSE 100 and Dax Index are down by over 0.4% each while CAC rose by 0.57%.
The BSE Sensex is now trading below the 11700 mark and the NSE Nifty has slipped below the 3600 mark.
The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap are also facing the selling pressure and are trading with a loss of more than 5% each.
The overall market breadth is negative as 652 stocks are advancing while 1872 stocks are declining in BSE.
Ranbaxy Lab. reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (3.63%) at Rs.255.40 while Sterlite Industries the top loser down by (9.05%) at Rs.305.
At 2.32PM BSE Sensex is at 11,641.15 down by 160.55 points and Nifty is at 3,583 down by 19.35 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 104.26 points at 4,239.97 and BSE Small Cap slipped by 123.27 points to 4,963.66.
The BSE Capital Goods index is the one of the top loser today trading with a loss of 402.10 points at 9,092.83. The main losers are Praj Industries down by (6.97%) at Rs.86.80, L&T decreased by (5.95%) at Rs.1,018.75 followed by ABB and Bharat Electrical declined by (5.42%) and (3.52%) to Rs.709.80 and Rs.812.05 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.1653.10 with a total traded quantity of 4165939 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.481.80 with a total traded quantity of 9531082 shares.
