Markets Gains Further Ground - Sep 19, 2008

The markets are on a roll today and are witnessing huge buying interest across the board. The Realty index has outperformed all the sectorial indices today and is trading with a gain of more than 8%. The strong buying is seen among the IT, Oil & Gas, Banking, Power, Capital Goods and Metal stocks.

The BSE Sensex once again crossed the 14000 mark and the NSE Nifty over the 4200 mark.

The overall market breadth is positive as 1868 stocks are advancing while 667 stocks are declining in BSE.

DLF reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (8.53%) at Rs.429.90 followed by ICICI Bank up by (8.11%) at Rs.622.55.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 14,034.44 up by 718.94 points and Nifty is at 4,235.30 up by 197.15 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is higher by 159.17 points at 5,238.80 and the BSE Small Cap advanced by 140.33 points to 6,215.76.

The BSE Realty index is the one of the top gainer today trading with a gain of 298.79 points at 4,111.90. The main gainers are Ansal Infra up by (18.68%) at Rs.90.20, India Bull Real increased by (16.45%) at Rs.223 followed by DLF and HDIL inclined by (8.53%) and (6.13%) to Rs.429.90 and Rs.220 respectively.

The most active shares on NSE are Bharti Airtel trading at Rs.800 with a total traded quantity of 10870153 shares followed by Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2,040.35 with a total traded quantity of 3584439 shares
