Markets continue to trade weak on profit booking over the counters led by weak global cues. All indices are trading in red and among that sustained selling pressure is seen mainly in Metal, Capital Goods, Bank, Reality and Power stocks. Among the Sensex pack all 30 stocks are trading in red.
At 1.30PM, the BSE Sensex is trading lower by 225.19 points at 14,339.34 and NSE Nifty is down by 62.94 points at 4,297.05.
The BSE Mid Cap is trading lower by 28.98 points at 5,713.30 and Small Cap is down by 17.22 points at 6,874.42.
Losers from the BSE are Maruti Suzuki trading lower by (3.67%) at Rs626.50 in line with Tata Steel by (3.31%) at Rs580.50, Bharti Airtel by (2.65%) at Rs815.00, Reliance Infra by (2.64%) at Rs965.00, Reliance Comm Ltd by (2.55%) at Rs385.60, HUL by (2.40%) at Rs239.50, NTPC Ltd by (2.34%) at Rs171.10 and Ranbaxy Lab (2.33%) at Rs506.40.
The Metal index is trading lower by 203.33 points at Rs12,144.69 as Tata Steel is trading down by (3.31%) at Rs580.50 along with NALCO (2.77%) at Rs376.95, JSW SL (2.45%) at Rs745.55, Steel Authority (2.40%) at Rs152.30 and Sterlite Indus by (2.26%) at Rs613.00.
The Capital Goods index is trading down by 131.84 points at Rs11,754.78 as SKF India is trading lower by (2.07%) at Rs229.00 along with Havells India (1.93%) at Rs353.00, Siemens Ltd by (1.88%) at Rs537.75, Elecon Eng C (1.75%) at Rs115.05 and Gammon Indi (1.73%) at Rs216.20.
From the telecommunication sector, Bharti Airtel is trading down by (2.81%) at Rs814.00 along with Reliance Com Ltd by (2.63%) at Rs384.80, Tata Communications by (2.26%) at Rs405.20 and Idea Cellular is lower by (1.52%) at Rs81.15.
In auto sector Hero Honda Motors is up by (2.85%) at Rs239.80 while Maruti Suzuki is trading lower by (3.64%) at Rs625.95, along with Tata Motors by (1.68%) at Rs433.00, and M&M Ltd is down by (1.80%) at Rs574.00.
From cement sector Ambuja Cement is trading lower by (1.18%) at Rs79.35, followed by Grasim Indus down by (1.04%) at Rs1,918.00 and ACC Ltd is lower by (0.54%) at Rs559.30.
Maruti Suzuki is trading lower by 3.67%) at Rs626.50 as the company’s sales fell 9.2% in the month of August from the previous year due to the rising inflation. The company sold 59,908 vehicles in the month under consideration as against 65,968 units recorded in the same month of the previous yea
