The markets are still trading lower and are not showing any signs of recovery. The selling pressure continued among the IT, Power, Realty, Oil & Gas, Consumer Durables, Banking and Metal stocks. The BSE Sensex is now hovering around the 13500 mark and the NSE Nifty around the 4100 mark.
The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap are also trading lower and in line with the benchmark index.
The overall market breadth is negative as 807 stocks are advancing while 1632 stocks are declining in BSE.
L&T reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (0.73%) at Rs.2,570 while Wipro the top loser down by (4.38%) at Rs.354.50.
At 2.32PM BSE Sensex is at 13,494.08 down by 198.44 points and Nifty is at 4,094.85 down by 66.40 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 35.63 points at 5,091.15 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 51.83 points to 6,049.68.
The BSE IT index is the one of the top loser today trading with a loss of 73.88 points at 3,343.23. The main losers are Wipro down by (4.38%) at Rs.354.50, Mphasis decreased by (4.10%) at Rs.195.50 followed by Satyam Computer and TCS declined by (3.07%) and (2.54%) to Rs.323.65 and Rs.695.30 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2,005 with a total traded quantity of 2106267 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.580.65 with a total traded quantity of 6180376 shares.
