The markets though managed to recover a bit from its low but not able to sustain its momentum and slipped further. The selling pressure continued across the board mainly led by the stocks like Realty, IT, Banking, Metal and Oil & Gas. However, the FMCG index recovered slightly and is trading marginally higher.
The overall market breadth is negative as 974 stocks are advancing while 1543 stocks are declining in BSE.
HUL reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (0.81%) at Rs.240.85 while Ranbaxy Laboratories reported the top loser down by (6.80%) at Rs.460.
At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 14,488.67 down by 410.43 points and Nifty is at 4,350.05 down by 97.70 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 71.71 points at 5,757.46 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 49.77 points to 6,924.60.
The BSE IT index is the one of the top loser today trading with a loss of 139.01 points at 3,946.69. The main losers are Satyam Computer down by (4.59%) at Rs.412.60, Wipro decreased by (4.94%) at Rs.425.95 followed by Infosys Technologies and HCL Technologies declined by (4.17%) and (3.72%) to Rs.1,715 and Rs.242.30 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2,075.80 with a total traded quantity of 2351493 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.687.70 with a total traded quantity of 7029322 shares
