The markets today made a sharp turnaround from the yesterday’s low’s and opening significantly higher as the inflation number slipped to 12.40% in the week ended August 16 as against 12.63% in previous week. Further the positive sentiments from the global market also added to the rally. All the sectorial indices are trading in green in the opening trade. The most buying is seen in the Banking, Realty, Capital Goods and Power stocks. The BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap are also trading higher with a gain of more than 1% each.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1292 stocks are advancing whereas 284 stocks are declining on BSE.
ICICI Bank reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading with a gain of (6.07%) at Rs.672.35 while Ranbaxy Laboratories reported the top loser down by (0.75%) at Rs.514.
At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was up by 336.15 points at 14,384.49 and the Nifty was up by 93.95 points to 4,307.95.
The BSE Mid Cap increased by 91.25 points to 5,700.10 and the BSE Small Cap advanced by 83.66 points to 6,865.96.
BSE Bank index surged by 315.12 points to trade at 6,911.53. The major gainers are ICICI Bank, AXIS Bank, HDFC Bank and SBI grew by (6.07%), (4.97%), (4.83%) and (4.35%) to Rs.672.35, Rs.704, Rs.1,274 and Rs.1,366.35 respectively.
BSE Realty index advanced by 148.84 points to trade at 4,901.91. The top gainers are India Bull Real increased by (6.49%) to Rs.275.80, Ansal Infra up by (4.24%) to Rs.100.90, HDIL inclined by (3.81%) to Rs.287.60 followed by Unitech grew by (3.17%) to Rs.158.
Dr. Reddy is trading higher by (2.40%) at Rs.580.50. The company has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for trandolapril tablets.
