The market today opens sharply lower on the back of sharp negative cues from the global markets. The most selling pressure is seen in the Realty, Bank, FMCG and Auto stocks. However, the Metal and Consumer Durables stocks are trading in green in the opening trade. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are also trading lower.
The overall market breadth is negative as 678 stocks are advancing whereas 964 stocks are declining on BSE.
Jai Prakash Associate reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading with a gain of (2.52%) at Rs.160.80 while Reliance Communication the top loser down by (13.15%) at Rs.434.30.
At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was down by 255.40 points at 14,100.35 and the Nifty was down by 77.95 points to 4,255.
The BSE Mid Cap decreased by 28.52 points to 5,538.85 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 28.32 points to 6,884.47.
BSE Bank index dropped by 119.35 points to trade at 6,397.06. The major losers are HDFC Bank, SBI, ICICI Bank and PNB fell by (3.29%), (2.37%), (1.99%) and (0.72%) to Rs.1,062, Rs.1,383.60, Rs.624.60 and Rs.448.50 respectively.
BSE Realty index slipped by 118.68 points to trade at 4,960.33. The top losers are DLF decreased by (3.84%) to Rs.489.75, India Bull Real down by (1.94%) to Rs.281, HDIL declined by (1.92%) to Rs.441.70 followed by Parsavnath fell by (1.88%) to Rs.109.65.
