The market is trading on positive territory due to selective buying across the counters. Indian market opened on negative note and soon turned volatile ahead of expected inflation number today evening. The BSE Sensex is trading above 15,100 level and NSE Nifty above 4,500 mark. Metal, Consumer Durables, Oil & Gas, Bank and Auto stocks are most favorable stocks as most of the buying is seen from these baskets. The market breadth is positive as 1312 stocks are trading in green while 924 stocks are trading in red.
At 11:30 AM the BSE Sensex is trading higher by 101.52 points at 15,175.07 and NSE Nifty is trading up by 26.14 points at 4,543.70. The BSE Mid Cap is trading higher by 45.27 points at 5,900.70 and BSE Small Cap is trading up by 40.76 points 7,184.90 respectively.
Gainers from the NSE are Dr Reddy’s Lab trading higher by (4.65%) at Rs610.00 in line with Tata Motors by (3.79%) at Rs445.50, Sterlite In by (3.32%) at Rs608.00, M&M Ltd by (3.25%) at Rs582.10, HCL Tech by (2.99%) at Rs235.60 and HDFC by (2.95%) at Rs2,462.00.
The BSE Metal index is trading up by 186.57 points at 13,045.76. Scrips that are trading higher are Ispat Industries (4.55%) at Rs28.70 followed by Sterlite In by (3.24%) at Rs607.00, JSW SL by (3.13%) at Rs813.80, Tata Steel by (2.53%) at Rs662.00 and JIndal Steel by (2.10%) at Rs2,125.00.
The BSE Consumer Durables index is trading higher by 75.49 points at 3,942.80 as Videocon Industries trading up by (5.01%) at Rs309.00 along with Gitanjali Ge by (2.74%) at Rs262.45, Titan Ind (1.76%) at Rs1,245.35, Rajesh Exports by (0.95%) at Rs52.95 and Blue Star L by (0.34%) at Rs400.50.
Tata Motors is trading higher by (3.96%) at Rs443.60. The company has recently acquired an 80% stake in Kinetic Motor Cycles Limited for Rs 110 crores. With this acquisition, the company’s ambitions of getting important of the two wheeler market shall soon succeed.
