Market is trading on back foot as Metal, Bank, Capital Goods, Reality and IT stocks are trading weak. After a positive opening, market slipped soon and further lost more ground on IIP numbers. June IIP numbers were down at 5.4% as against 8.9% (YoY), and India''s infrastructure sector output grew by 3.4% in June 2008 from a year earlier, slightly below 3.5% annual growth in May 2008. NSE Nifty is trading around 4,500 level and BSE Sensex is below 15,200 mark. Among the Sensex pack, 3 stocks are trading in green while 27 are in red.
At 1.31PM, the BSE Sensex is trading lower by 362.78 points at 15,141.13 and NSE Nifty is down by 94.84 points at 4,529.55.
The BSE Mid Cap is trading lower by 61.61 points at 5,921.06 along with Small Cap down by 74.58 points at 7,196.77.
Losers from the BSE are Maruti Suzuki trading lower by (6.85%) at Rs666.50 in line with Tata Steel by (6.02%) at Rs606.00, ICICI Bank Ltd by (4.70%) at Rs734.55, Infosys Tech by (4.61%) at Rs1,593.05, JP Associates by (4.30%) at Rs189.10, Tata Power by (3.98%) at Rs1,034.00 and Sterlite Indus by (3.88%) at Rs600.65.
The BSE Metal index is trading down by 435.32 points at 12,700.92 as Tata Steel trading lower by (5.78%) at Rs607.50 along with Jindal Steel by (4.52%) at Rs2,006.00, Sterlite Inds (3.82%) at Rs601.00, Hindustan Zinc by (2.87%) at Rs561.00 and JSW SL by (2.71%) at Rs781.55.
The BSE Bank index is trading lower by 248.89 points at 7,453.46 as ICICI Bank Ltd trading down by (4.77%) at Rs734.00 along with Axis Bank by (4.72%) at Rs723.90, Bank of Baroda (4.02%) at Rs284.30, Punjab National Bank (3.92%) at Rs496.50 and SBI by (3.55%) at Rs1,536.00.
