The market is trading o the back foot tracking the unfavoring cues from global markets. The investors are taking calculative steps to book their positions. From the sectoral front, the metal stocks are attracting the investor’s confidence as most buying was witnessed from this basket. The market breadth is negative as 1120 stocks are trading in red while 1104 stocks are trading in green.
At 11:35 AM the BSE Sensex is trading lower by 89.13 points at 15,028.11 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 20.75 points at 4,503.10. The BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 5.79 points and 31.11 points at 5,887.39 and 7,198.10 respectively.
Losers from the BSE are Cairn India trading lower by (4.72%) at Rs245.55 along with Axis bank by (4.33%) at Rs716.10, Crompton Greaves by (3.25%) at Rs258.40 and Ambuja Cements by (3.05%) at Rs90.15.
The BSE Capital Goods index is trading down by 126.82 points at 12,268.08. Scrips that are trading lower are Crompton Greaves Ltd (3.23%) at Rs250.05 followed by Seimens Ltd by (2.34%) at Rs548.95, Thermax Ltd by (1.84%) at Rs472.95, BHEL by (1.50%) at Rs1,748.00 and Areva by (1.47%) at Rs1,596.00.
The BSE Bank index is trading lower by 122.35 points at 7,160.80 as Axis bank trading down by (4.09%) at Rs717.90 along with ICICI Bank Ltd by (2.12%) at Rs693.50, PNB (1.86%) at Rs492.80, SBI by (1.84%) at Rs1,496.00 and Federal Bank by (1.34%) at Rs217.05.
ONGC is trading higher by (3.33%) at Rs1058.5. The company has placed orders worth Rs16.1bn for eight deep drilling onshore rigs to Shiv-vani oil and gas exploration. The contract is is for eight onshore deep drilling rigs on an integrated well completion basis for its Tripura, Sivasagar and Rajamundhry assets, which include one 3,000 horsepower rig and seven 1,500-2,000 horsepower rigs.
Tata Steel is trading up by (1%) at Rs651 as the company has identified raw material resources in America, Australia and Africa for acquisition to ensure that around 50% of the requirement of Corus is met through captive resources.
