Market is trading lower due to the heavy selling across the counters after a weak opening tracking negative global cues. BSE Sensex is trading around 13,000 level and NSE Nifty around 3,900 mark. All indices are trading in back foot and Oil & Gas, Metal and Bank stocks are most unfavorable stocks as deep selling continued in these baskets. The market breadth is negative as 530 stocks are trading in green while 1668 stocks are trading in red.
At 11.34AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 456.17 points at 13,069.82 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 113.10 at 3,916.85. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are trading lower by 118.71 points and 115.98 points at 5,221.10 and 6,477.02.
Lossers from the NSE Nifty are Reliance Infra down by (8.37%) at Rs714.20 along with Tata Power Co (5.63%) at Rs1,024.00, Unitech Ltd (5.38%) at Rs158.40, ICICI Bank Ltd (4.97%) at Rs575.10, SBI (4.43%) at Rs1,119.80 and Satyam Computer by (4.26%) at Rs461.00.
The Oil & Gas index is trading down by 316.43 points at Rs8565.71 as ONGC is trading lower by (4.23%) at Rs849.60 along with Reliance Nat Res by (3.97%) at Rs62.95, Reliance (3.91%) at Rs1,948.95, Essar Oil Ltd (3.52%) at Rs170.00 and HPCL (2.71%) at Rs187.00.
The Metal index is trading down by 225.87 points at Rs12,032.12 as Gujarat Nre C is trading lower by (4.20%) at Rs103.80 along with Ispat Industries (3.74%) at Rs20.60, Jindal saw (3.36%) at Rs482.00, Jindal Steel by (3.08%) at Rs1,711.80 and Sesa Goa Ltd by (2.72%) at Rs286.50.
The Bank index is trading lower by 231.35 points at Rs5,661.44 as Axis Bank is trading down by (4.98%) at Rs572.85 along with ICICI Bank Ltd (4.43%) at Rs577.00, HDFC Bank Ltd (4.23%) at Rs963.60, SBI by (4.17%) at Rs1,122.90 and Union Bank by (3.95%) at R107.00.
SBI is trading lower by (4.43%) at Rs577.00. SBI may conclude the quarter with a bigger hit as compared to its peers on its treasury portfolio due to mark-to-market (MTM) losses on bonds.
