The market gives up all its initial gains as the profit booking across the counters prevails. The volatility grips the market since the initial bell. Also, the rising inflation remains a concern and the government announced certain measures to control it like banned of non-basmati rice exports along with Scrap import duty on crude edible oil and cut duty on refined edible oils to 7.5%, The market breadth is strong as 1488 stocks are trading in green while 721 stocks are trading in red.
At 11.34AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 70 points at 15,574 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 25.85 points at 4,708.65. The BSE Mid Cap is trading lower by 21.63 point at 6,501.16 while BSE Small Cap is trading up by 38.36 points at 7,940.34.
Losers from the BSE are Bajaj Holdings trading lower by (6.73%) at Rs644.90 in line with Tel Eighteen by (5.33%) at Rs375, Bhel by (4.98%) at Rs1954.10, Jai Corp by (4.98%) at Rs488.95, Welspun Guj by (4.76%) at Rs365, ABG Shipyard by (4.59%) at Rs686.60 and Sesa Goa by (4.11%) at Rs3001.75.
The Capital goods index is trading lower by 242.08 points at 13,766.94. Pulling it are Bhel trading down by (4.69%) at Rs1960 along with Elecon Eng by (3.94%) at Rs181.75, Alstom Projects by (2.04%) at Rs570, L&T by (1.98%) at Rs2965, Praj Inds by (1.98%) at Rs133.45, Thermax by (1.83%) at Rs589.95, Kalpataru Power by (1.40%) at Rs1084 and Siemens by (1.34%) at Rs609.
The Consumer durables index is trading up by 41.43 points at 3,924.72. Pushing it are Rajesh Exports trading higher by (2.77%) at Rs79.80 in line with Videocon inds by (2.59%) at Rs314.90, Lloyd Ele by (1.31%) at Rs96.95, Gitanjali GE by (0.50%) at Rs222.50 and Titan inds by (0.11%) at Rs1063.50.
BPCL is trading up by (2.2%) at Rs418 as Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd company’s joint venture with Oman oil company has filed Draft Red Hearing prospectus for an initial public offering with Sebi. The company has filed papers for IPO of the joint venture company that is setting up a Rs10,400 crore refinery at Bina in Madhya Pradesh. BORL intends to raise Rs 3,850 crore equity for the refinery project having capacity of six-million-ton a year at Bina. This equity includes contribution by BPCL, government of Madhya Pradesh and the public.
Satyam is trading higher by (1.01%) at Rs400 as the company announced establishment of Pega Business Process management centre of excellence at Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The company teamed up with US based company “Pegasystems” and the company will leverage the capabilities of Pegasystems SmartBPM Suite.
