Market Gains Grounds

The market has gained further grounds with the BSE Sensex crossing the 15,000 mark as significant buying witnessed across the board. The benchmark index has outperformed the broader market today. The strong buying is seen in the Capital Goods, Oil 7 Gas and Power stocks.The overall market breadth is negative, as 826 stocks are advancing whereas 1753 stocks that are declining.

Reliance Energy reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (4.89%) at Rs.1,249 followed by HDFC Bank trading down by (1.82%) at Rs.1,216.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 15,136.95 up by 327.46 points and Nifty is at 4,611.20 up by 108.10 points. The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 28.55 points to 6,095.80 and the Small Cap dropped by 116.07 points to 7,406.16.

The BSE Capital Goods index is the top performer today. It is trading with a gain of 413.06 points at 13,119.37. The main gainers are BHEL up by (4.85%) at Rs.1,882, Siemens increased by (4.16%) at Rs.651 followed by L&T and ABB advanced by (3.03%) and (2.50%) to Rs.2,790 and Rs.1,064 respectively.

The most active shares on NSE are Reliance trading at Rs.2207 with a total traded quantity of 2509880 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.776 with a total traded quantity of 5993602 shares.

L&T is trading higher by (3.40%) at Rs.2,800. The company has bagged a contract valued at Rs 170 crore for supply of coal gasifier and syngas cooler assembly to Hebi Coal and Electricity Company, a subsidiary of China-based Zhongyuan Coal Chemical Industry Group.
