CHENNAI: Prices of thoor dal, urad dal and maida declined on the wholesale foodgrain market here on Monday, while sugar slightly edged up.
Prices of all other commodities remained unaltered. Thoor dal dropped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 3,900 from its previous rate of Rs 4,100. Urad dal declined by Rs 100 to Rs 3,500 from previous level of Rs 3,600. Maida edged down by Rs 20 per 90 kgs to Rs 1380.
However, sugar price rose by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 1,350.
Following are today's rates per quintal: Thoor dal Rs 3,900, urad dal Rs 3,500, moong dal Rs 3,200, gram dal Rs 2,500, sugar Rs 1,350, wheat Rs 1,400. Maida (90 kgs) Rs 1,380 and sooji Rs 1,450.
