Pepper up, jeera down on NCDEX

MUMBAI: Agri-commodities were up on Monday and NCDEX registered a turnover of Rs 2,091 crore with active trade in chana, guar seed, pepper, rape-mustard seed and soya bean.

Chana closed up at Rs 2,392 per quintal with a turnover of Rs 251 crore. Guar seed closed at Rs 1,675 per quintal with a turnover of Rs 368 crore. Soya oil closed up at Rs 485.5 per 10 kg with a turnover of Rs 177 crore, soyabean was up at Rs 1,615 per quintal recording a turnover of Rs 303 crore.

Pepper closed up at Rs 13,833 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 253 crore while jeera closed down at Rs 10,052 per quintal registering a turnover of Rs 156 crore. Sugar was up at Rs 1,299 per quintal while chilli closed up at Rs 4,352 per quintal.

The turnover on MCX in the first session up to 5 pm was Rs 4,568.63 crore.

Bullion turnover was Rs 1,724.09 crore. Gold contracts, including gold mini, traded between Rs 54 and Rs 68 per 10 gm. Gold December contract was up 0.63% at Rs 9,649 per 10 gm.

Silver contracts, including silver mini, traded up between Rs 122 and Rs 132 per kg. The December contract rose by 0.68% at Rs 18,433 per kg.

In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 655.65 crore. The November delivery contract up 1.30% at Rs 320 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 556.71 crore. Zinc October contract rose by 2.03% at Rs 125.95 per kg. Turnover of all nickel contracts was Rs 231.79 crore.
