MUMBAI: MCX registered a turnover of Rs 4,388.26 crore in the first session up to 5:45 pm (time extended due to sun outage) on Monday.
Bullion turnover was Rs 1,712.05 crore. Gold contracts, including gold mini, traded up between Rs 10 and 22 per 10 gm. October gold rose 0.2% to Rs 9,439 per 10 gm. Silver contracts, including silver mini, traded up between Rs 18 and 157 per kg. December silver rose 0.82% to Rs 18,367 per kg.
In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 693.22 crore. The November delivery contract rose 1.08% to Rs 317 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 626.44 crore. Zinc contracts closed up between Rs 1.75 and Rs 2.05 per kg. September zinc rose 1.77% at Rs 118.05 per kg. Turnover of all nickel contracts was Rs 248.24 crore.
NCDEX registered a turnover of Rs 1,749 crore with active trade in chana, guar seed, soyabean and soya oil. Refined soya oil closed firm on Monday tracking a firm international palm oil market. The near-month soya oil contract on NCDEX closed at Rs 492.6 per 10 kg against the previous close of Rs 488.35. Soya oil posted a turnover of Rs 263 crore on NCDEX.
Guar seed closed down at Rs 1,706 against the previous close of Rs 1,746 and registered a turnover of Rs 414 crore. Chana closed at Rs 2,289 per quintal and registered a turnover of Rs 196 crore.
Pepper closed up at Rs 12,329 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 129 crore. Jeera closed down at Rs 10, 176 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 100 crore. Rape mustard seed closed up at Rs 450 per 20 kg and posted a turnover of Rs 150 crore.
