Markets Gained Further Foundation - July 01, 2009

The markets gained further grounds and are near the day’s high as buying spurred across the board. The investors take fresh positions at lower level. Further the positive opening of the European markets also boosted the sentiments. The Realty index outperformed the benchmark index in the afternoon trade as it now trading with a gain of more than 4%.

The strong buying witnessed among the Oil & Gas, Banking and Capital Goods tocks. Further the European markets also turned negative.

The BSE Sensex is now trading near the 14,700 mark while the NSE Nifty near the 4,300 mark.

The overall market breadth is negative as 1095 stocks are advancing while 1366 stocks are declining in BSE.

DLF reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading up by (5.45%) at Rs. 327.75 while Hindalco Industries reported the top loser trading down by (4.57%) at Rs. 82.50.

The BSE Sensex is trading up by 173.20 points at 14,667.14 and the NSE Nifty is trading higher by 52 points at 4,343.10.

The BSE Mid Cap increased by 42.50 points to 5,118.84 and the BSE Small Cap grew by 7.04 points to 5,747.08.

The Realty index is trading with decent gains of 118.12 points or 3.68% at 3,325.31. Gainers from this pack are Indiabull Real trading up by 7.13% at Rs209.65 along with DLF by 5.57% at Rs328.10, Unitech by 3.14% at Rs82.10, HDIL by 2.81% at Rs239.25, Penland by 1.10% at Rs68.80 and Ananat Raj Inds by 1.01% at Rs99.80.

The Oil and Gas index is trading higher by 198.02 points or 2.11% at 9,588.17. Leading the rally are BPCL trading up by 6.36% at Rs457.45 followed by HPCL by 5.23% at Rs314.70, Reliance Industries by 2.95% at Rs2,083.05, RPL by 2.79% at Rs129.10, IOCL by 1.92% at Rs542.25, Cairn India by 1.74% at Rs237 and Essar Oil by 1.11% at Rs154.20.

The most active shares on NSE are Suzlon Energy trading at Rs 107.30 with a total traded quantity of 55807311 shares followed by Unitech trading at Rs.82.55 with a total traded quantity of 55364559 shares.

On the global markets front, the European markets are now trading higher as the FTSE 100, DAX and CAC 40 index are trading up by (1.43%), (1.49%) and (1.76%) respectively.
