Market Straight Choppy Reliance Dip By 4 Per Cent - July 27, 2009

Market after a shaky start, the benchmark indices witnessed a cautious trend with positive bias amid announcement of corporate results. Further, the profit booking pressure has crept in across the broader level due to lack of encouraging news in the domestic arena. On a stock specific move, Reliance Industries dipped by over 4%, after it reported an 11.5% fall in quarterly net profit, a sharper drop than the market had been expecting.

During the last hours'' trading session, buying interest has emerged across Realty, Consumer Durable (CD) and FMCG sectors, while selling pressure has seen across Oil & Gas and Auto counters.

Among the BSE sectoral indices, Realty and CD stocks surged by 3.55%, and 2.32% respectively, while BSE Oil & Gas and Auto dipped by 2.49% and 0.42% respectively.

Overall the market breadth is positive as 1,476 stocks are trading in green while 711 stocks are in red.

The BSE Sensex is up by 56.49 points at 15,435 while NSE Nifty inclined by 18.44 points at 4,587.

Besides, the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are also trading higher by 67.39 points and 83.02 points at 5,449.21 and 6,133.23 respectively.

Gainers from the BSE Pack are DLF Limited up by (4.41%) at Rs. 411 along with Hindustan Unilever by (3.54%) at Rs. 292.10, Tata Power Limited by (2.75%) at Rs. 1,205, Reliance Communication by (2.35%) at Rs. 282.80, Bharti Airtel by (2.27%) at Rs. 424.95 and Tata Steel by (2.18%) at Rs. 449.50.

Gainers from the NSE Sensex Pack are HCL Tech Limited surged by (4.82%) to Rs. 245.8, along with DLF Limited by (4.63%) to Rs. 412, Hindustan Unilever by (3.71%) at Rs. 293.15, Axis Bank by (3.14%) at Rs. 922, Tata Power by (2.71%) at Rs. 1,204 and Suzlon Energy Limited by (2.32%) at Rs. 105.75.

BSE Realty is trading higher by (3.55%) or 134.59 points at 3,925.24. The major gainers are Sobha Dev surged by (6.96%) at Rs. 215.90 along with Omaxe Limited by (5.91%) at Rs. 106.60, Parsvnath by (4.56%) at Rs. 117, Indiabull Real by (4.43%) at Rs. 243 followed by DLF Limited by (4.41%) at Rs. 411.

BSE CD is trading higher by (2.32%) or 72.68 points at 3,211.71. The top gainers in the index are Gitanjali GE surged by (4.48%) to Rs. 103.75 along with Titan Industries by (3.59%) to Rs. 1,361.05, Rajesh Exports by (2.80%) to Rs. 42.15 followed by Blue Star by (1.66%) at Rs. 367.20.
