Market Firm Due To Global Cues - July 14, 2009

Market after a gap up opening, the major Indian bourses are trading with fair gains after a heavy loss over the last couple of sessions. The equities of major indices bounced back strongly on account of sharp surge in global markets on the back of some positive economic data from Singapore and Australia. On a stock specific move, Reliance infrastructure is trading higher by over 5%, after news that company could be the front-runner for the Hyderabad metro rail.

During the last hours’ trading session, almost all the sectoral indices are trading in green territory.

Among BSE sectoral indices, Realty, Metal, and Capital Goods (CG) are trading higher by 5.32%, 4.21% and 3.72% respectively.

Overall market breadth is positive. Out of the total 1,973 stocks traded at BSE, 1,495 advanced, 435 declined while 43 remained unchanged.

The BSE Sensex is surged by 303.38 points at 13,703.7 while NSE Nifty up by 94.84 points at 4,068.9.

Besides, the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 150.08 points and 166.49 Points to 4,734.7 and 5,224.19 respectively.

Gainers from the BSE Sensex Pack are Reliance Infrastructure surged by (6.97%) to Rs. 1,034, along with DLF Limited by (5.96%) to Rs. 285.35, ICICI Bank by (5.62%) at Rs. 667.30, BHEL by (5.06%) at Rs. 2,061.10, Tata Steel by (4.60%) at Rs. 354.50 and Jaiprakash Associate by (3.98%) at Rs. 184.30.

Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Reliance Infrastructure up by (7.47%) at Rs. 1,036.5 along with Suzlon Energy by (6.85%) at Rs. 85.85, DLF Limited by (6.21%) at Rs. 286.35, Reliance Capital by (6.05%) at Rs. 770.25, Unitech Limited by (6%) at Rs. 68.9 and ICICI Bank Limited by (5.49%) at Rs. 667.7.

BSE Realty is trading higher by (5.32%) or 145.65 points at 2,884. The top gainers in the index are DLF Limited surged by (5.96%) to Rs. 285.35 along with Mahindra Life by (5.73%) to Rs. 240, Unitech Limited by (5.62%) to Rs. 68.65, Indiabulls Real by (5.37%) to Rs. 185.55 followed by Orbit Co by (4.97%) at Rs. 129.85.

BSE Metal is trading higher by (4.21%) or 410.10 points at 10,145.78. The major gainers are JSW SL surged by (6.72%) at Rs. 516.65 along with SAIL by (5.83%) at Rs. 148.85, Hindustan Zinc by (5.76%) at Rs. 577.50 followed by Jai Corp by (4.99%) at Rs.200.05.
