Despite weak sentiments across overseas, the Indian benchmark indices rallied sharply in subsequent trade. Further the Midcaps and Smallcaps continue to outperform the benchmarks. On stock specific news, Power Grid is up by nearly 5% after it has capital expenditure plan of Rs 12,000 crore for the current fiscal year, much higher than the Rs 9,000 crore spent in the previous year. During the last hours'' trading session, almost all the sectoral indices are trading in green territory and buying interest has emerged across Realty, Metal and Consumer Durables (CD) counters. Among the BSE sectoral indices, Realty, Metal and CD stocks surged by 3.49%, 2.73% and 2.62% respectively. Overall the market breadth is positive as 1468 stocks are trading in green while 522 stocks are in red.
BSE Sensex up by 113.6 points at 11,136.69 while NSE Nifty surged by 31.4 points at 3,415.8. Besides, the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 80.36 points and 90.73 points at 3,552.96 and 4,042.29 respectively.
Gainers from the BSE Sensex Pack are Jai prakash associate Ltd up by (7.08%) to Rs. 119.45, along with Reliance Infrastructure by (3.70%) to Rs. 683, L&T by (2.80%) at Rs. 890.75, ACC Ltd by (2.79%) at Rs. 628, Tata Steel by (2.52%) at Rs. 264.8 and Reliance Communication by (2.48%) at Rs.223.5.
Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Siemens Ltd surged by (7.23%) at Rs. 321.25 along with HCL Tech Ltd by (7.21%) at Rs. 138.3, Tata Communication by (4.63%) at Rs. 573.5, Power Grid by (4.26%) at Rs. 101.65, Reliance power by (4.01%) at Rs. 120.6 and Unitech by (3.98%) at Rs. 54.8.
BSE Realty is trading higher by (3.49%) or 75.59 points at 2,242.08. The major gainers are Phoenix Mill surged by (6.76%) at Rs. 105 along with Anant Raj by (6.63%) at Rs. 78, Indianbul Real by (6.21%) at Rs. 136.80 followed by Unitech Ltd by (5.42%) at Rs. 55.45.
