Hibernian Aviva, Irish insurance major will phase out 580 jobs in Ireland and relocate that work to its parent company in India. The company has said that as part of its restructuring plan announced last year, it will bring a number of staffs from ''Aviva'' in India to Dublin for training this week.
"As part of the company''s agreed programme to move roles from Ireland to India over the coming two years, a small number of colleagues - approximately 12 - will be joining Hibernian Aviva in Dublin on Jan 26",a spokesman for the insurance firm said.
The company announced that after the completion of training of the Indian staff in Dublin, the Irish jobs would then be phased out. However, the company said that initially up to 80 Irish jobs would be affected across its three centres in Dublin, Cork and Galway while up to 500 more staff affected over the three-year duration of the restructuring plan.
