Mayhem Continues Over The Market - Dec 19, 2008

Trading at above 10k level, the murkiness continues over the market, on account of mixed cues across the globe. Low inflation number is providing some respite to the investors and now market is eagerly looking for some positive news from RBI. The market is breathing on higher side from the yesterday’s closing. Besides, the green numbers from the major Asian markets are giving support to the Indian market to trade in green territory, as most of the sectoral indices like Realty, Consumer Durable and Auto stocks are nearly up by 7%, 3% and 2.5% respectively. However investors are booking their profit from yesterday’s gainer IT stocks, which is currently trading in red territory.

At 11.30 AM, the BSE Sensex is gaining by 74.52 points at 10150.96 and NSE Nifty by 27.7 points at 3,088.45. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are trading higher by 53.76 points and 50.9 points at 3,258.32 and 3,762.85 respectively.

Gainers from the BSE Sensex Pack are DLF surged by (6.47%) to Rs 295.35, along with Tata Motors by (4.87%) to Rs.182.05, Maruti Suzuki by (4.46%) at Rs.560.10, Mahindra & Mahindra by (4.17%) at Rs.321, Sterlite Industries by (2.99%) at Rs.279 and Tata Steel by (2.86%) at Rs.228.45.

Gainers from the NSE Nifty Pack are Unitech up by (14.45%) at Rs.43.55 along with DLF by (6.63%) at Rs.295.8, Mahindra & Mahindra by (6.24%) at Rs.327, Maruti Suzuki by (5.74%) at Rs.566.95 and Suzlon Energy by (5.38%) at Rs.61.65.

BSE Realty is trading higher by (6.51%) or 148.70 points at 2,432.69. The major gainers are Unitech trading up by (13.52%) at Rs.43.25, Orbit cor by (7.29%) at 66.95, Ansal Infra by (7.06%) at Rs.37.90, Sobha Dev by (7.04%) at Rs.115.55, followed by DLF by (6.47%) to Rs.295.35.

BSE Auto is trading higher by (2.83%) or 71.31 points at 2,587.80. The top gainers in the index are Tata Motors up by (4.87%) to Rs.182.05, Maruti Suzuki increased by (4.46%) to Rs.560.10, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd by (4.17%) to Rs.321, followed by Amtek Auto by (2.92%) at Rs.67.
