Market Inched Up Further Realty Gains - Dec 04, 2008

The market surged further on heavy buying across the sectoral indices. The fall in inflation rate to 8.40% per cent for the week ended November 22 2008, against 8.84 per cent in the previous week, raised hopes of rate curb by the Reserve Bank Of India to give a boost to the economy. The Indian government is looking at the option of providing export package along with relaxation in external commercial borrowings and budgetary support for the infrastructure sector and this also give a boost to the sentiments of the investors. From the sectoral from, the Realty index is outperforming the benchmark index that is trading with handsome gains of more than 10% followed by Capital Goods by more than 7% and Power, Bankex and Oil and Gas by more than 4% each.

On the global market front, the European Markets are trading in positive as Dax Index is trading up by 2.05% and FTSE 100 up by 1.31%.

The broader markets are trading in green as the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading with good gains of 56.11 points or (1.98%) and 44.93 points or (1.38%) at 2,886.70 and 3,310.03 respectively.

The overall market breadth is strong as 1318 stocks are advancing while 687 stocks are declining in BSE.

JP Associates reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading up by (15.13%) at Rs.71.90 along with DLF by 11.39% at Rs 213.75.

At 2.36 PM BSE Sensex is at 9,136.54 up by 389.11 points and NSE Nifty is at 2,758.60 up by 102.15 points.

The BSE Realty index is trading with handsome gains of 167.01 points or (10.71%) at 1,726.70. Pushing it are Unitech trading up by 16.41% at Rs30.50 along with Orbitco by 16.31% at Rs46, HDIL by 14.43% at Rs 89.20, Indiabull Real by 12.32% at Rs105.30, DLF by 11.20% at Rs213.40, Parsvanath by 11.01% at Rs38.30 and Anaant Raj Inds by 10.77% at Rs54.

The Capital Goods index is up by 475.86 points or (7.82%) at 6,562.44. Gainers are Suzlon Energy trading up by 11.17% at Rs41.80 along with L&T by 9.29% at Rs754.25, Crompton Greaves by 8.90% at Rs121, Bhel by 7.42% at Rs1364, Praj Inds by 7.01% at Rs58.75 and Punj Lloyd by 6.85% at Rs152.80

The most active shares on NSE are Unitech trading at Rs.29.85 with a total traded quantity of 74633168 shares followed by Suzlon Energy trading at Rs.41.40 with a total traded quantity of 40490633 shares.
