The markets are trading in negative territory as selling pressure continued among the selective scrips mainly led by the Oil & Gas, Metal, Realty, Capital Goods and Auto stocks. The Oil & Gas index has under performed the benchmark index today as its is trading with a cut of more than 7%. However, some buying support witnessed among the Pharma, IT, Banking, FMCG and Power stocks. On the global market front, the European Markets are trading lower as both the FTSE 100 and Dax Index are down by 2.05% and 1.17% respectively.
The BSE Sensex is now trading below the 10,400 mark and the NSE Nifty has slipped below the3,100 mark.
The broader markets are however trading flat. A the BSE Mid Cap is trading marginally higher while the BSE Small Cap is trading lower.
The overall market breadth is negative as 1217 stocks are advancing while 1251 stocks are declining in BSE.
Wipro reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (3.99%) at Rs.273.50 while Reliance Industries the top loser down by (10.32%) at Rs.1,305.
At 2.32PM BSE Sensex is at 10,350.22 down by 160.55 points and Nifty is at 3,045.65 down by 96.45 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is higher by 1.32 points at 3,447.54 and BSE Small Cap slipped by 14.39 points to 4,020.72.
The BSE Oil & Gas index is the one of the top loser today trading with a loss of 477.98 points at 6,271.53. The main losers are Gail India down by (14.94%) at Rs.201.50, Essar Oil decreased by (8.48%) at Rs.85.85 followed by RPL and RNRL declined by (7.38%) and (4.40%) to Rs.87.25 and Rs.53.20 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.1,304 with a total traded quantity of 9322577 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.470 with a total traded quantity of 13529356 shares.
