The market is trading on the back foot as the selling still intensified across the counters. The investors are taking calculated steps to book their positions as the cues are not supportive. On the domestic front, the fall in India’s exports by 15% led to the negative sentiments in the markets. From the sectoral front, Realty index is the worst hit trading with losses of more than 9% each along with Capital Goods, Metal, Oil and Gas and Power indices are facing the heavy selling pressures that are trading with a deep cut of more than 5% each.
On the global market front, the European Markets are trading on the backfoot as both the FTSE 100 and Dax Index are down by 1.15% and 1.51% respectively.
The broader markets are also negative as the BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading with losses of 2.80% and 1.89% respectively at 3,377.94 and 3,912.65 respectively.
The overall market breadth is weak as 1663 stocks are declining while 761 stocks are advancing in BSE.
Tata Steel reported the top loser from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading down by (9.02%) at Rs.195.10.
At 2.34PM BSE Sensex is at 9,923.03 lower by 613.13 points and Nifty is at 2,961.75 down by 186.5 points.
The BSE Realty index is trading with losses of 215.28 points at 2,245.57. Pulling it are Indiabull Real trading lower by 14.90% at Rs 130.80 along with DLF by 10.37% at Rs267, Omaxe by 9.63% at Rs60.50, Mahindralife by 9.52% at Rs170.10, HDIL by 9.29% at Rs115.20, Orbitco by 8.55% at Rs71.15 and Parsvnath by 7.90% at Rs46.65.
The Power index is trading with deep cut of 119.36 points at 1,797.63. Losers are Suzlon Energy down by 12.55% at Rs60.30 in line with GVK Power by 10.99% at Rs18.39, GMR Infra by 10.49% at Rs69.55, Bhel by 8.84% at Rs1379, Abb by 8.68% at Rs496, Crompton Greaves by 7.89% at Rs168.60 and Neyvelli Lignite by 7.96% at Rs61.85.
