The repels of US markets and Asian Markets continued to dominate on the Indian bourses. Out of 30 Sensex stocks 19 were trading in red and in Nifty 50 stocks 34 were trading in red. There are still concerns about whether or not the House of Representatives will pass the financial rescue bill. Selling pressure was witnessed in some of the sectors as weak Asian markets weighed on sentiment. BSE Sensex is trading down by 1.34% and NSE Nifty down by 1.20%. Selling pressure has emerged across some counters particularly Metal, Oil & Gas, Consumer Durable, IT stocks. The market breadth is negative as 1175 stocks are trading in red while 866 stocks are in green.
At 11.25AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 174.48 points at 12881.19 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 47 at 3903.5. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are trading lesser by 36.61 points and 30.98 points at 4787.55 and 5575.82 respectively.
Losers from the NSE Nifty are Sterlite Industries down by (8.16%) at Rs396 along with SAIL (6.93%) at Rs114.9, Tata Steel (5.36%) at Rs414.85, NALCO (5.07%) at Rs351.1, Cairn india (4.85%) at Rs201.9, Gail India (3.67%) at Rs399.8.
Losers from the BSE Sensex are Sterlite Industries down by (7.52%) at Rs397.1 along with Tata Steel (5.62%) at Rs414, ICICI Bank (3.80%) at Rs530.5, Reliance Ind (3.57%) at Rs1839.1, Infosys Technologies (3.41%) at Rs1404.25 and Tata motors (3.02%) at Rs3.29.
The BSE Metal index is trading lower by 374.57 points at Rs8677.08 as Sterlite Industries down by (7.34%) at Rs397.90, along with SAIL (7.05%) at Rs114.70, JSW Steel is trading down by (5.97%) at Rs427.50, Jindal Steel (5.55%) at Rs1226.80 and Tata Steel by (5.51%) at Rs414.50.
The BSE Oil & Gas index is losing by 208.93 points at Rs8730.62. Scrips trading lower are Cairn India (4.78%) at Rs202.00 followed by Aban Offshore by (4.68%) at Rs1945.00, Essar oil (4.19%) at Rs150.75, Gail India (3.86%) at Rs399.50 and Reliance Ind by (3.53%) at Rs1840.00.
