The broader markets are trading weak as selling activities are being witnessed across the indices due to weak global cues. Fear still hovers in the market about industry recession and also the global newsflows are still poor. These blips are a clear sign that the markets have still not bottomed out and could see a further downside. On the global front, there are concerns over the global recession as the enthusiasm about the government’s plan to buy stake in the weak financial institutions has died down. The heavyweights in the sectors like Metal, Capital Goods, Oil & Gas, IT are trading lower. The market breadth is negative as the advance decline ration poised at 1:3.49 on the broader BSE.
At 11.30 AM, BSE Sensex is trading negative by 323.91 points at 11159.65 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 74.00 points at 3444.45. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are losing by 104 points and 130 points at 3787.13 and 4485.40 respectively.
Losers from the NSE Nifty Pack are BHEL down by (6.93%) at Rs1392.00 along with Tata Steel down by (6.67%) at Rs284.6, Sterlite Ind down by (6.52%) at Rs304.05, Suzlon Energy by (5.92%) at Rs104.85, Maruti Suzuki by (5.79%) at Rs678.1, Reliance Infra by (4.87%) at Rs602.15 and ICICI Bank by (4.86%) at Rs427.70.
