CMC, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), reported an increase of 17.7 per cent in its net profit (consolidated) at Rs 27.09 crore for the second quarter results ended Spetember 30, 2008 from Rs 23 crore registered in the same quarter of the corresponding year.
The revenue at Rs 212.3 crore was down by 22.6 per cent from Rs 274.6 crore for the quarter ended Septmeber 30, 2007.
On a sequential basis, the company’s net profit was up by 14.7 per cent from Rs 23.6 crore--but revenues dipped by 25 per cent.
The revenues from customer services segment was down by 55 per cent at Rs 66.65 core on a year-on-year basis from Rs 148.3 crore. Similarly education and training segment revenue were also impacted and dipped by 16 per cent.
