The market is facing huge selling pressure across the board after the news of hike in the CRR by 25bps to 9% and the Repo rate by 50 bps to 9% from RBI. This has led the rate sensitive index like the Banking, Realty and Capital goods to shed further points.
HUL reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (1.34%) at Rs.234 while HDFC Bank reported the top loser down by (9.15%) at Rs.1024.05.
At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 13,748.64 down by 600.47 points and Nifty is at 4,173.40 down by 158.70 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 144.27 points to 5,486.51 and the Small Cap slipped by 90.24 points to 6,822.74.
The BSE Bank index is the top loser today trading with a loss of 551.62 points at 6,210.20. The main losers are HDFC Bank down by (9.15%) at Rs.1024.05, ICICI Bank decreased by (8.06%) at Rs.609.90 followed by PNB and SBI declined by (7.64%) and (6.40%) to Rs.453.55 and Rs.1326.70 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are ICICI Bank trading at Rs.608.60 with a total traded quantity of 9799522 shares followed by L&T trading at Rs.2563.75 with a total traded quantity of 1894912 shares.
