The market today open marginally higher and suddenly gives up the gains and slipped down to trade in the negative territory. The selling pressure witnessed in the selective scrips mainly led by the Realty, Consumer Durables, Power and Capital Goods stocks. However the only IT index is facing some buying momentum. The BSE Sensex slipped below the 13400 mark and the NSE Nifty also gives up the 4000 mark.
On the primary market front, Sejal Architectural has got listed in the bourses today at Rs 137.85 as against its issue price of Rs 115.
The overall market breadth is negative as 409 stocks are advancing whereas 1106 stocks are declining on BSE.
Satyam Computer reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading with a gain of (1.37%) at Rs.443.15 while Bharti Airtel the top loser down by (3.84%) at Rs.688.
At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was down by 3.65 points at 13,457.94 and the Nifty was down by 50.35 points to 3,990.20.
The BSE Mid Cap decreased by 104.38 points to 5,282.09 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 122.44 points to 6,579.51.
BSE IT index improved by 33.52 points to trade at 4,053.34. The top gainers are I-Flex increased by (2.13%) to Rs.1,421, HCL Technologies increased by (1.32%) to Rs.254, Wipro inclined by (1.15%) to Rs443 followed by Satyam Computer up by (1.35%) to Rs.443.05.
BSE Realty index dropped by 134 points to trade at 4,409.07. The major losers are India Bull Real, HDIL, Omaxe Ltd. and Parsavnath fell by (10.84%), (7%), (4.41%) and (3.53%) to Rs.241.80, Rs.360, Rs.125.70 and Rs.117.50 respectively.
BHEL is trading higher by (0.50%) at Rs.1,386.30. The company has won a Rs.20.8bn turnkey contract for setting up a 400 mega watt thermal power project in Syria.
