The market today open higher as significant buying emerged in the selective scrips mainly led by the FMCG, Bank, IT and Capital Goods stocks. However, the Consumer Durables and Realty stocks are trading lower in the opening trade. The frontline indices are in demand in the opening bell. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap stocks are however trading marginally higher.
The overall market breadth is negative as 670 stocks are advancing whereas 841 stocks are declining on BSE.
Wipro Bank reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is trading with a gain of (3.13%) at Rs.377 while JP Associate the top loser down by (2.58%) at Rs.156.40.
At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was up by 215.38 points at 13,850.78 and the Nifty was up by 45 points to 4,137.25.
The BSE Mid Cap increased by 6.48 points to 5,245.87 and the BSE Small Cap advanced by 6.27 points to 6,46216.
BSE Bank index advanced by 78.92 points to trade at 6,267.81. The top gainers are Bank of Baroda increased by (3.59%) to Rs.223.70, SBI up by (2.25%) to Rs.1,329, Bank of India inclined by (1.75%) to Rs261.25 followed by PNB up by (1.71%) to Rs.448.
BSE Auto index inclined by 48.69 points to trade at 3,649.62. The major gainers are Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Hero Honda grew by (2.06%), (1.62%), (1.40%) and (1.32%) to Rs.531, Rs.427, Rs.632.50 and Rs.689.10 respectively.
